Update from the Refurbishment Committee

On June 4, 2009, the Refurbishment Committee including the steering group (Judi Barth, Judy Gann—absent, and Alexandra Kielty) and advisory group (Sharon Bobb—absent, Jerry Feldman, Joan Rosenbach, Barbara March Smith) met to discuss the options that were presented to the steering group by Phyllis Hartman. The Hartman Group has prepared CAD drawings to map out the areas of work. Fabrics and carpet samples were shown to the steering group.

In order to ensure the integrity of any refurbishment work, President Woody Cunningham has told the Refurbishment Committee that he will pursue calling in outside engineers to evaluate and recommend repairs to any problems areas of the building that might potentially cause problems.

The process is off to a good start that the joint committee feels excited about. The steering group will brief the ECA Board on the status of the project at the June 16 Board meeting.
