Full disclosure I was present for half of the meeting which only lasted one hour. Among the things I learned:
--There will be no floor-to-ceiling windows in the upcoming improvements.
--We are over budget for the operating side by $185,000. This includes $70,000 in repairs to apartments that were paid by the ECA and reflection of higher utility costs. Once repairs are made to balconies and windows/balcony doors, these kind of costs should not happen. Residents can help minimize utility costs by using compact florescent bulbs and efficient energy power strips like the one being given out free from EccoBecco. Residents can help by turning off their fan coil units when they open balcony doors and windows.
--Borrowing we will engaged in this summer is from a line-of-credit account and we can pay back as we go if that works to our advantage.
